The glasses consists of a micro HDTV-camera with IR, self charging TOLED screens, bone conduction speakers, a surround microphone, fuel cell batteries, an IRAM picoprocessor, Total Immersions 3D solution (or similar) and a high speed satellite transmitter/receiver with GPS and a EVDO modem.
The built in camera sends a video feed through a high speed connection to the personal online virtual base station which integrates the content with what the user sees in front of him/her using Total Immersions 3D solution or similar and sends it back in real time. It’s like integrating VR with the real world. Using this technology you will be able to fuse and superimpose 3D-objects or screens into the environment in front of the user.
The user don’t need to have all content physically with him/her since Aier is connected with the online virtual base station at all times. It streams all content whether it’s a PS4 game, a movie, TV or a phone-call.
Using the Aier
The user interface is a version of the PS3 and PSP. Combined with the NavRing for easy navigation.
The Virtual Base Station
Every user has a personal virtual base station that is accessible through the Aier. It contains every software and content you own like games, movies, TV channels, music, maps, contacts etc. It also works as a remote Vaio computer and a remote Playstation.
The NavRing
A navigation aid for the Aier that works like a slimmed version of the PS3 hand control.
Watching movies and TV
With the possibility of placing a screen in preferable size anywhere in front of you and locking the position to the environment makes it possible to watch TV and movies on the buss, at home or wherever you like. The screen size can be from 10 to 200 inch.
Playing video-games and using the computer
Using the computer and playing games that require a screen is set up the same way as watching movies but there is now a possibility for a new breed of games that fuses into the environment in front of the user. 3D Board-games with animated pawns, playing Command and Conquer at the sofa table etc.
3D-IRL-Chat
If the User has an Avatar in Playstation Home it can be used as a 3D-IRL-Chat. Having your best friend standing in front of you in real size (or as a Obi-Wan Kenobi hologram size if preferred) and having a conversation with you in real time. This feature can even be used for those intimate moments with your loved one if the distance is too far to meet IRL. Visually only of course ;)
Using the navigator
The navigator guides you with voice and with 3D arrows and signs superimposed into the environment. With help of the navigator you can also be guided historically and get restaurant reviews by just looking at a building. At sea it helps you navigate and avoid rocks etc.
Night Vision, binocular and sunglasses
Since the camera has IR the Aier can be used as night vision goggles and also as sunglasses. The optical zoom makes it a binocular if needed.
Using the camcorder
You can record your first date or a vacation by simply turning on the camcorder function an let it roll. A program at the base station stabilizes the recorded video.
Using the translator
Turning on this function enables the user to read books, menus and signs etc in a preferred language. The users view is sent to a optical character recognition software that translates the text and sends back a superimposed 3D video feed in real time that places over the real text.
Watch a 3D-IRL-consert
Using the same technique as the 3D-IRL-Chat but with your favorite artist or band performing in front of you.
Read Virtual books and magazines
With this option the user can read virtual books and free magazines with personalized ads.
Using Aier for business
Attend conferences virtually, have a 3D-IRL-meeting, use the Vaio remote for work.
